Revisiting Oh-Eight Goals

In my blog during the start of the year (well not exactly, it’s a day after the first day), I aimed to reach certain goals and I would like to check if I remained committed to those. It’s been 6 months since I last wrote that entry and my progress might or might not stick to my goals:

To wit:

  1. Reduce spending on camera gear. The figures alone sounds alarming yet I am happy with my gear.
  2. Save more! If #1 is followed, this will happen.
  3. Lose at least 30 pounds in the next 6 months.
  4. Go to at least 2 Philippine destinations that I haven’t visited before.

1. Unfortunately, I broke my goal the month after I wrote that. I spent something for an ultra-wide glass (Canon EF-S 10-22) which up to know I am still paying. 😦

2. Goes to show because of #1, I wasn’t able to save well, but I am saving something for the rainy days. What’s good is that I have alternative sources of income – call that parallel income. 🙂

3. I only lost 20 pounds. Not bad from a target goal of 30 pounds but I’ll try to do my best to reach that. I plan to include swimming in my regimen to get a toning workout for myself. 🙂

4. I went to Batanes last February and I’m off to Dos Palmas this last week of June. 🙂
And I wasn’t that bad at all. Goals, like what I’ve said are better than resolutions. Resolutions are rehashed “promises” that we ourselves tend to break. If we focus ourselves attaining to something specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and time-bound (SMART), things would have been lot easier and goals can be easily reached.

How about yours? Have you checked your goals/resolutions lately?

Bold and italicized texts are my emphasis.

Yung ibang tao, naiinggit.

Isang basura, isang basurera. Perfect match, diba?

Sometimes you tend to be in despair when your loved one doesnt love you back. But dont worry, dont cry much. Just close your eyes and whisper, Mahal din ako nun. Pakipot lang.

When you ran, I chase you. You told me to stop following you. When I stopped, you got mad! Aminin mo na. In love ka rin sakin, no?

If you ever find someone better, funnier or nicer than me, go ahead, hindi kita pipigilan. Nandun ako, nang-aasar sayo, Better than me pala, ha?

Lagi ka na lang may rason. Nakalimutan mong tumawag, nakalimutan mong magtext, nakalimutan mong magpaalam. (I can relate)

Courting Status Code Definition (for guys)

This morning, I am researching for certain items for my project when I accidentally saw this. For web developers (like me), you might be quite familiar with certain HTTP status code definitions and this entry is quite hilarious. I guess the one who made this post is a Filipino as certain portions contain Filipino text. If you are the owner, hit me back so I can recognize your nice work.

Courting Status Code Definition

Each Status-Code is described below, including a description of which method(s) it can follow and any metainformation required in the response.

Informational 1xx

100 Continue

You SHOULD continue with its courtship. The interim response is to inform you that the initial courtship has been acknowledge and you are not yet rejected. You SHOULD continue the courtship. She MUST send a final response after the courtship has been completed (aka sasagutin ka dapat).

101 Switching Protocols

She understood and is willing to comply with you to change the way you talk to each other. She will switch her gestures according to your request.

The change in ways of talking and/or communicating with each other SHOULD only be done when it is advantageous to do so. ( I.E. If you are now close, nagsasabihan na kayo ng secrets, may trust na sa isa’t isa… madalas na ang date… )

204 No Content

She received your request to court her but she did not return any gestures, and might want to return updated information.

205 Reset Content

She has fulfilled the part of the courtship and you SHOULD reset any parameters (aka how you should treat her… etc…) in your mind that caused the courtship. (In other words, most likely, magbabago ang mundo mo pag kayo na)

You Pushed Me Away

shelved.jpg

/emo. “shelved”

You Pushed Me Away

You pushed me away
That’s all I can say
Thanks for the pain that I shouldn’t endure
For the love I’m expecting yet so unsure

It took me time for my heart to rest
And find solutions that would fit best
To forget that I have loved someone like you
And that someone left me sad and blue

But now that I have perfectly moved on
I think I’m better off alone
It’s funny to look back the way things were
And stupid I am longing for your care

Just when I thought love was to stay
You pushed me away
Sad to see how much love was lost
Without knowing you’re the one I loved the most

May Tama Si Popoy

~ Popoy (One More Chance)

You had me at my best, she loved me at my worst. And you chose to break my heart.”

Tama nga ako. I have moved on na. May silbi ang heartache leave.  🙂

I’m on Heartache Leave

heartache_leave.jpg

I will be on heartache leave (aka vacation leave in work context) starting tomorrow and I will be off to some place to have my broken heart healed (apmf!). Perhaps, there will be no SMS, no e-mail, no internet on the place where I will find respite. Rest assured, I’m coming back when I have finally cleared or have my heart lessens the pain.

The Bucket List

bucket_list1.jpg

Last Saturday, I had the opportunity of watching again a movie after all the stress of daily life and work. I heard that “The Bucket List” is a good movie to watch and so I have decided to buy a ticket in the afternoon schedule – just enough time for me to eat lunch after my workout. Besides, Julia Fordham would be performing in TriNoma so perhaps, it is the best schedule to watch.

In a nutshell, the movie is titled “The Bucket List” as started by Carter (Morgan Freeman) or things to do before “he kicks the bucket” aka pass away. As both characters are diagnosed to have less than a year to live, they have decided to do things they’ve never done before as stated in “the bucket list”. You can read the movie’s synopsis here.

The most touching thing Cole (Jack Nicholson) performed from the list is the one written as “kiss the most beautiful girl in the world” which is no other than his grand daughter from her only daughter she haven’t seen for a long time.

The movie tells so much about living life and appreciating it. I suggest having this movie watched with a friend, not necessarily your significant other but someone whom you can trust. Honestly, I got teary-eyed watching this movie and I won’t fail to recommend this movie. As of this posting, Metro Manila theaters are still showing this movie.

Just because I told you my story doesn’t mean you’re a part of it.

Sad but true.
