Election season is one of the most anticipated events in Philippine History. Not only that we elect our local and national leaders, it has also been an entertainment show where you see action, love story, suspense, horror in live action. You can’t discount the amount of violent scenarios that you would never thought would happen in a so-called “democratic” country.
In my current work, I can see how broadcast companies can be so busy on times like these. My participation was a bit small – aside from the usual stuff I do for the Philippine Entertainment Portal (www.pep.ph), I had a small stint doing for the unofficial quick count that our mother company has participated in. It was quite tedious and tiring as we had to be in the office since last Friday, 11 May 2007 to prepare all the stuff and the last minute preparations for the Monday’s election.
Now that the election is over, the action doesn’t stop yet. We still need to be vigilant and watchful of our votes as cheating starts in counting. Violence may continue as most people aspire for power that they’ll do anything to get it. I hope that this season is over and let’s move forward to a better tomorrow.
May God Bless the Philippines!
