Official Canon 5D Mark II and 50D Philippine Prices
Tonight would be Canon Philippines’ Canon Photographers night. Cameras that will be introduced are the following and their corresponding Canon Marketing Philippines (CMPI) prices. More often than not, prices at Hidalgo would be lower. Prices indicated here are collated from various Philippine photography forums and should there be changes, I will be updating it after the event later.

Good times for Canon users ahead! Personally, I am eyeing the 50d but the price of 5D Mark II is cheap for a full-frame camera.

OMG. And I’m even thinking twice on buying a G9. But man, 21 megapixels is something.
Setting aside megapixels and having tried the 5D Mark II myself, I want to get it, if not only budget permits it.
After a time of doing researches between the EOS 50D and 40D i decided to buy the latter. Consumers would be generally attracted with the 15.1 megapixel, VGA screen, bumped ISO and the new Digic 4 processor of 50D. But aside from these the 50D didn’t really leapfrogged the features of the 40D, except of course the price difference. So far the 40D is the best in its class. 50D has still to put a show to really appreciate its performance.
That’s one of the reason why the existing 40D owners are still “happy” with their gear despite in an almost < 1 yr release difference of the two models. At any rate, I am still not yet sure if I’ll upgrade or not (coming from a lowly 400D user).
